Born in 1988, Richard Blackwood was raised in Rosedale, New York by Jamaican born parents. Growing up, he was a soccer fanatic and played for the town soccer club, the Rosedale Rockets. In addition to being a varsity soccer player in hight school, he joined the school's Drama Club and Latin Dance Troupe.
